I recently hosted a fun swap for the "An Altered Place" group.
The swap was themed "Beatrix Potter" and each participant was to create a page interpreting any of her stories or characters. I then assembled a "book" incorporating a page from each artist...
the results were fabulous!
As hostess, I was also responsible for the book covers, and for assembling the books.
Vintage wallpaper was used as the background, embellished with laces, ribbons, tulle, trim, lots of flowers, and featured a photo of a young Beatrix holding a pup.
After assembling the books, the only way to keep our pages together and still be able to move them was by using a (very) large ring....not the prettiest thing.... coordinating ribbons and fabrics were used to "hide" the ring a bit and add some pizazz to the book.
A tiny bunny charm .... and a Peter Rabbit playing card...
The ladies went all out and had fun with the theme.
Each interpretation was unique and exemplified their individual creative talents.
Here are our book pages:
Artist: Karla Jackson
Artist: Michele Murray
Artist: Elysia Lebedoff
Artist: Angela Eharis
Artist: Sheng Vang
The styles were as different as the ladies themselves.
The details in each of the pages were imaginative and fun.
Thank you, ladies, for sharing your talents!
I hope you enjoy and cherish your Beatrix Potter book (I know I will!)
