A couple of years ago, I was a bit addicted to making things out of pleated paper.
While the novelty wore off, I still enjoy making my "wishing wands" as birthday gifts for special friends.
Recently, I made such a wand for a special lady; someone I've never met in person,
but have exchanged many beautiful things with.
Bright, cheery color: hot pink, aquamarine, tangerine orange...
I call them "happy colors."
Of course, every wand needs ribbons....
so you can twirl them around as you make your wish.
The "surprise"package went out Priority Mail, timed just right so she would receive it exactly on her birthday... I couldn't wait to hear if she liked it!
( I enjoy giving surprises a lot more than I enjoy receiving them.)
Her birthday came and went and still nothing.
Finally, I checked the delivery confirmation (Oh, why didn't I do this sooner?) and saw that the package had been sitting in the clearing center in Denver for over 5 days! What?!~??
Her birthday was May 22nd, and a week later, she still has not received her surprise. Frustration does not even begin to explain how I feel.
At this point, I'll be happy if it just makes it to her doorstep at all.
