I have lots of catching up to do in the studio! I have 6 swaps due this month, a couple of them require multiple versions of a specific item... and two others are new items/techniques that I will be experimenting with. Such fun!
But first I'd like to share some of my July projects.
It was a month of "petite" versions of things...
For example, these little pincushions for a Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group swap:
a graceful vintage swan serves as the base for this one
sweet puppy and shoe look even more adorable as a pincushion
These were such fun to make, and so easy!
The possibilities are endless... and let me warn you, it can get addictive.
There is a wonderful sense of accomplishment in starting and finishing these projects in a short period of time.
I am now looking out for cute little "bases" for pincushions whenever I'm out thrifting our visiting garage sales.
Another fun swap (also for MAMA) was titled "mini French envelope/tag book"...
also a "first" for me.
I decided to use soft grays, coral and pink..... the cover featured a darling image of "Marie" as a child.
Having a flat cover was out of the question... lots of ribbons, millinery and a few touches of bling were required.
There is such a sense of accomplishment when these "little" projects are completed. Cuteness in small doses always makes me smile.
I'm off to the Sunshine Room to work on my list of August projects...
Hope you are having a wonderful and creative week~
