I got married very young.
I became a mother very young.
As a result, my own mother became a "grandma" at age 43. She loved babysitting and going out and about with my children (by age 45 she had two grandbabies) and having people think they were her babies!
(tag made for Tabitha upon the arrival of her baby girl, Gillian)
I always thought I would become a young grandmother myself. So last year, when I turned the big "50" and was asked (quite frequently) what I wanted for my birthday, I would respond "to be a grandma before I'm too old to enjoy it!"
Yes, I know that 50 is the "new 42" and all that... but I want to have enough energy left in me to run after and with the little ones.... to see them start Kindergarten, graduate from college, and maybe even attend a wedding or two.
Is that too much to ask? (sigh)
I know I drive my kids crazy whenever I mention it.
Nobody in my family is surprised that I like to "ooh and ahh" over baby clothes when passing window displays. Or that I am attracted to vintage baby items...
Like this sweet little bonnet.
Or this cute little girl's hat and purse...
LOVE the millinery....
Can never resist baby gowns...
This one is homemade from dainty silk fabric....
So sweet!
Hope you are having a wonderful week!
oh my that dress is darling.....im the only one out of four kids for my mom that has given her grandbabies so im definately my moms favorite right now..teehee... hopefully your kiddo gets cracking..tell them your biological grandma clock is ticking

I feel your pain Mercedes. I'm older than you, and don't know if I'm ever going to get grandchildren. :( I do so enjoy looking at baby things, and want to buy them.
You've found some very sweet little beauties!
